Study of Mission Statement as an Antecedent to Financial Performance of Digital Firms

The purpose of this study was to conduct an investigation the Forbes Top 100 digital companies’ Mission statements (MS) and impact they have on each firm’s performance, as reflected by their rankings. For study, financial performance data these companies has been taken from 2019 list Digital Companies. mission collected respective corporate websites, company documents, official social media handles. A positive correlation observed between number stakeholders covered through MS return assets. that mentioned ‘employees’ in performed significantly better than other firms. Additionally, firms which showed ‘concern for societal benefits’ also better. This research underlines importance incorporating words such well having ‘societal orientations’ while designing organizations.
